12th Annual Capital Holiday Lights

The 12th Annual Capital Holiday Lights in the Park is open from November 28, 2008 -January 3, 2009 and welcomes one and all to “An Olde-Fashioned Holiday.”

The 2008 edition of Capital Holiday Lights is an all-new, drive-through spectacular with more than 125 displays and scenes in Albany’s Washington Park.

Presented by Hannaford Supermarkets, Mayor Gerald D. Jennings, the people of the City of Albany and Albany PAL, this year’s lights’ show has new themed areas: Santa’s Safari, Santa’s Toy Land, Home for the Holidays and the Victorian Village.

At the end of your drive through the Lights, the Washington Park Lake House comes alive. Join your favorite reindeer and friends as they bring fun and mystery to the holiday season.   The Lake House is filled with crafts and  refreshments.  Santa will be there through Dec. 23 to hear the holiday wishes of the little ones.

Hours are Sundays through Thursdays from 6 to 9 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 6 to 10 p.m. Admission prices are $15.00 per car; $25.00 per limousine or 15-passenger van, and $75.00 per bus, with all proceeds benefiting the youth programming of Albany PAL.  Discount coupons for $5.00 off admission on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings are available exclusively at Hannaford stores in the Capital Region.

The best part of the 12th Annual Capital Holiday Lights in the Park is that all proceeds benefit the juvenile crime prevention programs of the Albany Police Athletic League (PAL)!
